Morfydd Llwyn Owen was a hugely talented Welsh composer who came from Trefforest. Born in 1891, she died mysteriously at just 26 years old. In her few short years she won more awards than anyone in the entire history of the Royal Academy of Music. She was beautiful too, gathering 21 marriage proposals by the age of 21. Her friendships included DH Lawrence, Ezra Pound and Ernest Jones, Freud's closest associate and her future husband. She is perhaps best remembered for her contribution to Welsh music, including the well known song, Gweddi y Pechadur.
